Amber Chase and I are professional scientists who have returned for the day from a convention we are attending on the theoretical possibility of creating holes in time. The idea is that one can freeze time for a specific person or target, and while they are frozen, they can be influenced to do or be whatever they are told. Then, when unfrozen, they actually DO what they were told to do while frozen! Amber states that while the idea is intriguing, she is very skeptical that such a thing could actually exist. I start to tell her that any idea is theoretically plausible, but as I'm doing so, I just start to feel that now that we are finally alone together, it's a good time to let her know how I really feel. I put my hand on her leg and lean towards her, but she stops me. I just don't like you in that way, she says. I feel awkward, but then I figure, why not try the hole in time?
